This is how our factory test our axles and wheels. Impressive!

Joke of the year - ISO 9002
A look at horse magazine outside OZ
Sometimes it is interesting to look beyond OZ and check out what is out there in other places...Perhaps our closest neigbhour from down under - New Zealand.
So I came across this horse magazine called "New Zealand Horse Pony". I am just interested in what are the major industry players and how far they have come in matching we OZs here.
And then this ad on horse floats catch my attention immediately, it says "...All floats are manufactured in an ISO 9002 factory ...".
Joke of the Year - ISO 9002
Another letter soup ? WTH is this ISO 9002 ?
I heard about ISO 9000 series, and I know a little bit about ISO9001:2000 which tells corporates how to enhance customer satisfaction in supplier-customer relationships.
Out of curiosity I checked out the International Standard Organization at http://www.iso.org/. I entered the magic word "ISO 9002" and do you know what I got ?

NOTHING -- Even the world's most renowned organization who defines these international standard herself do not have any reference to this ISO 9002 thing....OMG.
What a joke! It would be interesting to find out what this ISO 9002 factory is doing.
The conclusion - this supplier doesn't know she is talking about!
And one got to be careful when dealing with this kind of company, 'cause they will promise to deliver things they don't know about.
And this is happening in the NZ horse float industry. Sigh....
I felt so lucky to be in OZ....at least we are "ISO 9002" free.

Galvanzied draw bar
At Imperial Horse Floats, something exciting is just happening NOW!
They have made a revolution in the horse float industry - effective immediately, all their floats comes with GALVANIZED draw bar.

Do you know what that means ? It means the draw bar of your float is never going to go rust!
This is just a fine demonstration of how those guys at Imperial Floats are really working hard to deliver the best floats in Australia.
Customers someday come up with "I wish we could have...." The folks at Imperial just listen and then they start rolling. Now that is what I call the 21st Century way of doing business.
About Made in China
A lot of the floats sold in Australia are manufactured in China...Actually if you ring Mitch or Les Tuza, my close mates at Imperial, they will tell you honestly the floats are designed in Australia but made in China, Full stop. For unknown reason, I don't know why people have become so sensitive about China products.
If you think about it, many of our daily stuff are made in China anyway. Your mobile phone, your fridge , the sports shoes you are wearing for example. As long as they are good quality that is fine. I can't see any reason why we have to discriminate somebody or something simply based on their origin.
The photos above is courtesy of Mitch Tuza , my close mate from imperial Horse Floats. Any questions on your floats ? Give him a call or email him at sales AT imperial Floats dot com dot au.
